Privacy Policy

We collect only what the product needs to run the matching experience:

• • Account information — your email address, your password (stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see it), and your confirmation that you are 18 or older.
• • Profile information— the details you choose to add: first and last name, date of birth (we display only your age), height, city and ZIP (we display only your city), photos, written bio, gender, religion, ethnicity, “kids wanted,” tags, what you are looking for, and an optional LinkedIn, Instagram, or Calendly link.
• • Activity — the connection decisions you make (pass, bookmark, connect, accept, etc.) and private notes you write about a profile.
• • Technical data — a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and basic server logs (such as request and error logs) generated by our hosting provider in the ordinary course of running the service.
• • Communications — messages you send us (for example, support or deletion requests).

We use your information to operate the matching experience; to verify eligibility (18+) and review profiles before they go live; to show you to, and surface, members you can match with; to send you service email such as email verification and approval notifications; to keep members safe and enforce our Terms; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal data.

Your profile is visible only to other vetted members, and only after a person has reviewed and approved it. To those members we show your first and last name, age, height, city, photos, bio, look-for details, and any LinkedIn or Instagram link you choose to add.

• • We do not show other members your email address, your exact date of birth (only your age), or your exact ZIP code (only your city).
• • Your Calendly scheduling link is revealed only after you and another member have mutually connected, and (by product design) is shown to the other side of that connection.
• • Private notes you write about a profile are visible only to you.

We don’t sell your data, but we rely on a small set of trusted processors to run the service, who handle your data only on our instructions:

• • Supabase — database, authentication, and private photo storage (your profile data, login, and photos live here).
• • Vercel — application hosting and server logs.
• • Resend — sending transactional email (e.g. verification and approval messages); receives your email address for that purpose.

If you choose to add a LinkedIn, Instagram, or Calendly link, those are third-party services with their own privacy practices; visiting them is governed by their policies, not ours. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of members, the public, or One Year Fiancé.

We use a single essential, HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in, and (during the pre-launch period) a cookie that remembers you have passed the access gate. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

We keep your account and profile information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your profile (see below), we permanently remove your profile data and uploaded photos and delete your account. We may retain limited information for a short period where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms (for example, a record that an account was removed for a violation). Because this is a beta, data may also be reset as we iterate; we will give notice where practical.

You can access and update your profile at any time, and you can permanently delete your profile, photos, and account from Settings → Delete. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA). We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, use the Contact us form in your account Settings and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information: passwords are hashed by our auth provider, profiles and decisions sit behind server-side access controls, photos are kept in a private store and served only through short-lived links, and your session cookie is HttpOnly. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.

The service is for adults seeking marriage and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process and store your information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers of personal data are made under appropriate safeguards. The data controller is AL Consulting LLC, which can be reached at the contact address below.

We may update this Policy as the service grows. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
